Area artists will be receiving an unexpected boost in 2010 as the owners of Pittsford Wines and Via Girasole offer artists and craftsmen free display space in their shop windows. As part of an ongoing effort to support the local economy and other small business owners, Marie and Nicole Casciani will display a variety of artwork that complements the theme of both shops. Six times yearly a new artist will be represented.
The first "Window Watch" artist to be featured was James W. Johnson, a custom carpentry artisan from Honeoye, NY. His handcrafted items were displayed in the shop windows throughout the month of January and gained much attention during the holiday season. James specializes in custom furniture pieces designed with a unique flair. Contact Jim at his email.
February and March will showcase the work of Pittsford portrait artist Mandy Dinino from Images Unveiled Photography. Mandy is nationally recognized and has won numerous industry awards. Her delightful work is sure to be a highlight of this ongoing program. Check out her work at www.imagesunveiled.com or read her blog at http://imagesunveiledblog.com/2010/02/18/following-the-sun-l-rochester-ny-commerical-photographer/

Local artists interested in displaying their work can contact Marie and Nicole directly at 585.218.0200. This campaign will continue through the remainder of 2010, and although art work is not for sale at Pittsford Wines, the owners will have artist's information available.
